The William Peters who celebrates her 21st anniversary this year was built by Ralph Bird at Devoran. She is named after William Peters, a boatbuiler from St Mawes and was launched by his great great grandson, Frank Peters on 19th May 1987.
The Rhos was also built by Ralph Bird at Devoran, her name originates from the Cornish for Headland. She was launched by Steve Redgrave in Portscatho on 28th January 1989.
The Killigerran was built by D & J Currah near Looe. Her name comes from a beautiful National Trust headland between Portscatho and St Mawes. She was launched by Brenda Pye in St Mawes on 11th March 2000.
And our newest gig which we have recently named, "Polvarth" was built by David Currah near Looe and was raced for the first time at the World Championships at the Scillies last May. Polvarth is the name of the area in St Mawes where William Peters originally had his boat shed. She is the same colour scheme as Killigerran.
