WELCOME TO ROSELAND GIG CLUB'S OFFICIAL WEBSITE!
We are based in St Mawes and currently have four Cornish Pilot Gigs, namely the William Peters, Rhos, Killigerran and Polvarth. We have been established on the Roseland for 20 years and have enjoyed great success as a club throughout this time. Although based in St Mawes we represent the whole of the Roseland Peninsula - Portscatho, Tregony, Portloe, Veryan and St Just.
We currently have two mens crews, two ladies crews, a veterans crew and two junior crews. In last year's World Championships in the Isles of Scilly, our veterans crew retained the Kit Guy Trophy with a comprehensive victory. Ladies A achieved an amazing 2nd place beaten only marginally by Falmouth's Ladies A and our Ladies B also made it into the top heat and rowed their way to a commendable 5th position. Our Men's crews also secured superb results. Men's A rowed the race of their lives against Caradon in ther final and were pipped to the post into 2nd position. Men's B maintained the Roseland high standard by achieving an incredible 16th. We are delighted that all crews have returned to the Roseland with such superb results throughout the club.
